Security Shutters Installation in Greenwich Posted on 10 Jun 10:16 , 0 comments
Having recently moved into their new home in Greenwich, our client was looking to enhance security - particularly in their ground floor kitchen which had a window facing the properties garden - but they didn’t want to sacrifice on style or natural light. Already familiar with and fond of the look of plantation shutters used elsewhere in the property, they wanted a consistent, elegant aesthetic with added peace of mind.

Our Solution: Portchester Security Shutters
To meet their needs, we installed full height Portchester aluminium shutters in a silk white finish, maintaining the same look as existing shutters in their home.

Unlike bulky roller security shutters or industrial-style security grills, the Portchester range offers a refined, discreet alternative – elegant security!
Benefits of Portchester Aluminium Shutters
- Aesthetic Consistency
Designed to blend seamlessly with traditional wooden shutters, maintaining a cohesive look across your home. - Security Without Compromise
Each panel is fitted with a lock, offering an additional layer of protection. When locked, louvres remain operable for light control, but the panels cannot be opened. - Modern Design Features
With a hidden tilt rod, the louvres are adjusted by hand—creating a sleek, uncluttered look. - Durable and Low Maintenance
Made from corrosion-resistant aluminium, these shutters are ideal for both indoor and outdoor use. They’re hard-wearing, weather-resistant, and built to last. - Peace of Mind
Perfect for vulnerable areas like ground floors, they help deter intruders without sacrificing your home's appearance or comfort.

Our client was thrilled with the outcome of the installation —gaining a sense of security, while preserving the bright, stylish atmosphere of their kitchen. The installation not only enhanced their peace of mind but also elevated the overall design of the space.

This article remains at its original URL as part of our complete journal archive. Its subject connects to the same specialist guidance our surveyors provide today: considering the window proportions, room, privacy requirements, light and the right product material before confirming a design.
A considered approach
Shutters are made to order, so good decisions begin with careful measuring and a clear understanding of how the room is used. Full height, café style and tier-on-tier panels each manage light and privacy differently, while bay windows, special shapes and wide openings need their own design response.
Our team can show you the current range of materials, colours, louvre sizes and hardware during a free home survey.
For confident DIY customers, selected shutter styles can also be measured and configured online. More complex bay, shaped and tracked installations are best discussed with our professional measure-and-fit team.
