Clients asked us for an elegant way to dress a large gable-end window in their home near Beaconsfield. Positioned on a spacious landing at the top of a stairwell, the window is an important source of natural light and one of the property’s most striking architectural features.
We installed bespoke plantation shutters across only the lower half of the window. This gives the homeowners the privacy they need while leaving the upper section unobstructed, allowing natural light to flood the landing and preserving the impressive shape and character of the gable-end window.
The finished design is practical and considered, balancing privacy, light and architecture without concealing the feature window.
