We recently installed bay window shutters for a young family who were in the process of renovating their period property in Shepherds Bush, West London. They were looking for a suitable window dressing for their large living room bay window. Requirements for the family were a functional, hard wearing and affordable product that was in keeping with their chosen contemporary interiors for the room. With young children, something resilient and easy to clean with the potential of sticky fingers was essential!
Bay windows are often a crowning and key feature of a room, and this was certainly the case in this home, it was therefore a difficult decision to make with what window decoration to use for both privacy and warmth, style and decoration. This is why we often find that our clients, like this family, find shutters the perfect solution for them. Bay window shutters sit perfect within or alongside the window design rather than taking away from it, allowing you to keep the perfect lines of the bay, keeping the area clean and crisp.
The family decided upon our Antigua Shutter Range in the Tier on Tier Style. The Antigua range, produced in high quality MDF is our entry level range and most popular product – for a very good reason! Antigua is extremely durable and therefore ideal if the shutters are open and closed a lot – perfect for a family home. As the family were solely having shutters to dress their window, rather than mixing them in with other window dressings, they wanted shutters that would cover the entire window. Tier on Tier were the perfect option for them, as it meant that the independent top and bottom doors, would allow for the multiple functionality, it meant that they could have the top panels open to let the light flood in, whilst the bottom panels were shut to maintain privacy.
The finished result looks super, with a clean and functional window dressing for a busy family!
